We Began

On July 24, 1993, within their Mamfe home in Cameroon, former high school teachers Rev. Dr. Joshua Cheng and Dr. Priscilla Cheng embraced the Great Commission, dedicating themselves to bringing God’s light to those in darkness. This commitment led to a public confession of faith and the establishment of Bible study groups and prayer meetings that grew to include 70 participants, creating a transformative space where many experienced healing and spiritual growth.

The journey culminated in the founding of the first church in Mamfe in August 1998, and momentum continued as additional churches were established across the North-West and South-West regions of Cameroon. FREM persisted, expanding its outreach through crusades, clothing and toy drives, food pantry, mission trips, technology and books drives.

Today, the Cheng family resides in the United States with their daughters. Following the passing of Rev. Dr. Joshua Cheng, Rev. Dr. Priscilla Cheng now serves as Lead Pastor, working alongside the FREM Advisory Council, pastors, congregations, and supporters. The vision God entrusted to them transcends geographical boundaries, aiming to reach communities across Cameroon and the world while serving the marginalized and spreading hope through faith in action.
